Crown Valley Elementary is going green! With the help of the CVES PTA and support of the community, Crown Valley is implementing the following programs. Crown Valley students think globally, but act locally!
- Recycle Wednesdays. . . CVES families and the community are invited to drop off bottles and cans before school. Please look for the CRV indication on the item. Proceeds from the collection will go directly to the CV PTA.
- Compost Thursday . . . Crown Valley students are encouraged to place fruit peels and vegetables rinds in the compost bin at their lunch time. The compost material will be added to the CVES garden to enhance the soil.
- Community Support Agriculture (CSA). . . The Crown Valley PTA has connected with Morning Song Farm to deliver fresh vegetables to your family. Morning Song Farm is a Community Support Agriculture (CSA) farm, connecting the community to local farmers with seasonal produce. Everything delivered from Morning Song Farm is 100% organic and picked the morning of delivery. The produce boxes are delivered to Crown Valley Elementary and ready for pick up after school. Families can have weekly or bi-weekly deliveries. If this is something your family may be interested in, please contact Linda Notti at lindanotti@sbcglobal.net with CSA in the subject line.
- Recycle Capri Sun juice pouches. . . CVES students are encouraged to recycle their Capri Sun and other juice pouches during their lunch time. Students place the empty juice bags in the dedicated container. CVES PTA will receive 2¢ for each bag. Please click here to download an informational flyer.
If your child is running a fever of 99.6 or higher, he/she must be fever free for at least 24 hours, un-medicated, before returning to school. This guideline is for the health and safety of all the students at Crown Valley Elementary.
Adult Education is offering a fee-based summer math program at three CUSD elementary schools. The 7-week class is completely computer-based, using two math software programs, (1) “FASTTMath”, which addresses math fact fluency, and (2) “Fraction Nation”, which addresses fractions and decimals concepts. This new summer class provides different program and time slot options, and will be held this year in the computer labs at Bergeson Elementary, Las Flores Elementary, and Moulton Elementary. The classes are open to all CUSD and non-CUSD students entering Grades 2-9. Please click here to visit the Summer School Math Program website and download a registration form.
